Ilona…its story

“Ilona Lake Resort” is inimitable and unique in its name itself. The name “Ilona” is of a Hungarian origin and is pronounced as “eye-LOH-nah” which means ‘sun ray, light or one that shines’ and has connotations of what is ‘beautiful and pure’. It is this distinctive feature that is projected in the design, ambience and location of the resort.

Ilona Lake resort, is situated on a cape like formation, marvelously cuddled by the enchanting Vembanaadu Lake and a backwater rivulet. The beauty is further enhanced by a natural rivulet, flowing right across the resort over which some of our chalets are built, giving it a true Venetian look, befitting the scenic backwaters of Kerala. The resort offers an unparalleled view of the seemingly boundless Vembanaadu Lake with a panoramic sight of the beautiful island called Pathiramanal.
